McGee is a 5’10” point guard in the class of 2020. He played grassroots basketball with MBA and attends Wyoming High School. Last high school season, McGee averaged 23ppg, 7apg, and 2spg.
McGee is an impressive player. He’s a threat to shoot the ball from anywhere on floor, and when he gets hot, watch out. McGee is an excellent ball handler that protects the ball and doesn’t over dribble. He can attack the rim and finish or dish off to a teammate. McGee sees the floor well and is able to be a step ahead of the play. He’s a lockdown perimeter defender, who plays aggressive defense on his toes. He can pressure the ball, both full court and half court.
McGee is not satisfied with being a star. He wants to continue to improve. McGee is working to become even more consistent with his jumper and from the free throw line. He’s focused on being more vocal and a leader next season.
Menalito McGee is an experienced basketball player that has had many great moments in the game. He considers his top moment to be when his Wyoming team played at South Christian and faced a homecoming crowd and a 22 point halftime deficit. McGee and his teammates chipped away at the lead and took the game to overtime, eventually winning by 1 on a last second three pointer. McGee is also very proud of Wyoming’s conference championship last season, and is looking forward to a matchup with state power Benton Harbor next season.
McGee has a lot to offer a college basketball program. He’s quick footed and athletic, which should help the transition to the next level. McGee is an aggressive scorer, but has a knack for knowing exactly when to go into attack mode. He will provide a college coach with a player that is dedicated to the game and focused on being the best player that he can be.
McGee is driven by his goals. He wants to take high school season one step at a time, winning a conference championship, then a district title, and on from there. McGee’s ultimate vision is a trip to the Breslin Center and a state championship. Long term, he hopes to play at the highest level or go overseas. McGee wants to earn a college degree in business management.
McGee is appreciative of his parents and all they provide.
