An athletic, 6’0 lead guard, Hill is an aggressive defender who handle the ball, plays with a high basketball IQ and is willing to play within himself and his role.
He says the experience of playing with Freedom Hoops has helped prepare him for the upcoming season and perhaps beyond. Hill says he spent much of the offseason working on his outside shot.
“My summer team is the best summer team there is, we have a lot of team bonding, we have a mentor to help us with life situations and also tell us what we need to work on on the court,” Hill said. “Our coaches help us become better player and man and it’s a great program.
“I worked on a lot of shooting because I can shoot but I would like my shot to be a lot better than what it is.”
Hill says his mom has had the biggest impact on his basketball career to date.
“She pushes me to put in the work I do everyday and make sure I’m in a gym,” he says. “Even if she working she finds time to stop what she’s doing to get me to a trainer or gym.”
A fan of NBA star Kevin Durant, Hill says he appreciates what the Nets forward can do on the hardwood.
“I feel like I learned a lot from him with being kind of tall and skinny,” Hill says. “I had to learn you gotta use your body when u go to the line. I learned how to create space by the moves he does I learned when to shoot the ball even if someone if closing out if they far enough I can release the ball the ball should be shot.”
