Prospect Spotlight: Jon Izemef (2021)
National Christian is looking like one of the best teams in the area for the upcoming season. The addition of 6-foot-9 post prospect Jon Izemef could be one of the reasons why. Izemef will likely step in and attempt to fill the void left by Robert Morris commit Ngonadi Olisa, who was a walking double-double last season.
One of the things Izemef will bring to the table immediately is his ability to block shots. We’ve seen this already several times throughout the summer. Izemef has good length and protects the rim with pride.
Another element that Izemef will add to NCA is his motor. He is relentless on the boards and runs the floor purposefully. Izemef’s coordination and hands do need some work, but should improve with consistent reps.
Izemef will pair well in the frontcourt with Oumar Koureissi, one of the best available bigs in the region. These two will compliment each other nicely as they have contrasting styles that should both be effective.
What are Izemef’s goals?
“Just go to college. Play for four years, and hopefully go professional.”
