A 5’10 guard, Wiseman brings intensity to the floor, the ability to push the ball in transition and get to the basket or find an open teammate. He is a solid outside shooter who can stick a mid-range shot or carve out a path to the basket.
He says playing for the Attack has helped him prepare for the upcoming high school season.
“Playing for my summer team has been a really great experience,” he says. “We compete well and we all have good chemistry with each other. It has prepared me to be able to know how to win when the game is on the line.”
Wiseman spent much of the offseason working on becoming a more consistent 3-point shooter and improving his range.
“This summer I have been working on my three point shot and being able to hit deeper and more contested threes, finishing with a lot of contact at the rim, getting quicker on defense, and being able to change my pace on offense,” he says.
Wiseman was the second-leading scorer and led Belle Plaine in assists last year as he helped lead the Dragons to an 18-6 record. For his efforts he was named CPL All-League first team and a 3A all-state honorable mention selection.
He says watching his older brother play in high school helped shape his basketball career.
“I always enjoyed watching my older brother play in high school, he was a good defensive player like me and watching him I couldn’t wait to play high school basketball,” Wiseman said.
A fan of Kansas’ Devon Dotson, Wiseman says he appreciates the guard’s skill set.
“We both play similar in most ways, he’s a good defensive player, he can finish and shoot well, and he is very quick in transition,” Wiseman said. “Some things I have taken from him into my own game is being able to finish so efficiently like him in transition.”
Wiseman does not currently hold any offers as he enters his junior season, but has heard from a handful of smaller schools around Kansas, including Barton Community College and Southwestern College.
