Prospect Spotlight: Detwan Montague (2021)
Milford Mill will have new look roster for the upcoming season, and Detwan Montague will likely be a big piece of their plans moving forward. The energetic 6-foot-8 post prospect is coming off a strong showing at the Will Barton Elite Camp and appears set for a breakout season. During a recent interview with Prep Hoops, Montague described his overall game and goals among other topics.
PH: What part(s) of your overall game would you say have improved since the high school season?
DM: “My shooting and foot speed. Right now, every single day I’m in the gym working on my strength. My main goal for the season right now is to get stronger in my upper body and my legs.”
PH: What’s one thing you do on the court that won’t show up on the stat sheet?
DM: “I talk a lot. I talk on defense and offense. I like to be vocal. It’s what I do best.”
PH: Who is recruiting you right now?
DM: “I have an offer from Coastal Carolina and I’ve received interest from Chicago State.
PH: Aside from improving physically, what other goals have you set for yourself?
DM: “Just to be a better team player. Work hard every day and compete.”
