Prospect Spotlight: Cory Curtis Jr. (2021) Transfers to Trinity Prep

From the palm trees, the busy traffic, and bright lights of Los Angeles, to the dry heat and city that never sleeps that is Las Vegas. For some, Vegas is just a party or a weekend getaway. For Cory, it's the next step in a change of lifestyle to chase his basketball dreams. Cory Curtis Jr. comes from View Park High School in Los Angeles, a charter school in the South region of Los Angeles off of Crenshaw. Trinity International Prep is located adjacent to Downtown Las Vegas. By transferring to Trinity Prep, Curtis actually returns to an area he once briefly lived in his childhood. "I moved to Vegas for the 5th and 6th grade, which is when I just started playing organized basketball so I'm pretty familiar with the weather. I'll miss home but I know not too many opportunities like this come around." speaks Cory Jr. By enrolling at Trinity, Curtis will play alongside the #1 prospect from the class of 2020 in Daishen Nix. Corey averaged 24 points a game at View Park and brings outside shooting, instant scoring, and versatility to the Thunder, and looks to be the perfect floor spacer to put next to a creative floor general. "He's one of the best guards I've played with especially with him having the same type of mature mindset and advanced perspective of playing the right way. We are going to do a lot of damage with the IQ and skill we have as a team." says Curtis Jr. In Coach Lockridge's offense, Cory looks to be a natural fit and should get a ton of looks from beyond the arc this upcoming season. Cory will not be the only transfer headed to Trinity. Also newly enrolled at the school are athletic forward Dennis Cash from Corona Centennial, speedy guard Dominique Daniels, slashing guard Jaxon Pillich. The team looks well rounded with their pieces to contend. "I expect nothing but a special season with the talent we have while helping Daishen become a McDonald's All American, and us preparing ourselves for this ride. I have a good feeling about this upcoming season." speaks Curtis Jr. "I chose Trinity because it was an opportunity I could not miss." As a class of 2021 prospect, Cory is carefully planning out his future. In a college, he is "looking for a great academic program beneficial to [his] future and that will help [him] grow as a person and a basketball player." Immediately Cory has his eyes set on a trophy, "I'm just looking forward to learning new information and winning a national championship with this special group."
