A homeschool athlete, Emmot is a 6’2 guard who takes pride in being a team player. He is a capable shooter from distance and can dial it up from 3-point range when open. He sees the floor well, can find the open man and takes pride in playing smart, fundamentally sound basketball.
“I’m. not exactly there to show off what I can do in front of everyone, just there to better myself and win,” he says.
Emmot says playing for Kansas Grind helped him improve his all-around game, especially at the defensive end of the floor.
“My summer team was fun to play on because they were athletic and a fast pace team, that prepared me for school ball by raising my intensity and getting up and down the court faster,” Emmot said. “I have been working on my defense non stop to keep my intensity up, I’ve also worked on ball handling.”
Emmot has played for the Wichita Warriors, a group of homeschool athletes, and says it has been a good fit.
A fan of NBA star Steph Curry, Emmot says his dad has had the biggest influence on his basketball career to date.
“He definitely my dad because he has taught me everything I know, he’s taught me how the game works and how to play it right,” Emmot said.
