At 5’10, Johnson is a strong all-around player who takes pride in his defense and letting the offensive side of things come throwing the flow of the game.
He says running with Drive 5 was something of a roller coaster as the program suffered several injuries that they worked hard to overcome while playing up an age level.
“I feel like the next level of the game I am ready for,” he says.
Johnson says he has been in the gym throughout the offseason expanding his game and preparing for the upcoming season.
“I’ve been in the gym day in and day out getting my jump shot together and my handles tighter,” Johnson said. “My leadership and my handles I will definitely be a better ball handler next season.”
Johnson says his mother, family and friends have had the biggest influence on his basketball career to date.
“They are the influence that keep me competing,” he says. “My goal is to make it so my family won’t have to worry about money.”
A fan of former North Carolina standout point guard Coby White, Johnson says he appreciates the NBA rookies explosive speed.
