Today we speak with DeAndre Evans of Motion Elite breaking down their top players, accomplishments, and favorite moments from the PrepHoops Circuit!
How did your program perform on the inaugural PrepHoops Circuit this spring and summer?
I think we performed really well. We finished pretty good record wise at the qualifying tournaments. Definitely looking to participate in more qualifying tournaments in the upcoming season.
Highlight a few of your programs accomplishments on the PrepHoops Circuit?
I definitely think having our team highly ranked at the beginning really gave us ammunition to really compete at a high level. Having guys get college camp invites and interests really was a big accomplishment for us this season.
Which PrepHoops Circuit event did you enjoy the most and why?
I really enjoyed the finals. I think that by that point all the teams had grown since the first tournament and we got a chance to see other teams we played in the past to see their growth. Also seeing the teams that played against us previously we got a chance to see how much we had grown as well.
Who were the top performers in your program this summer on the PrepHoops Circuit and tell us why?
First off Enari Thomas really put this team on his back and led this group of really great guys. It wasn’t always what he said, but it was what he did that really kept this team going through his leadership on and off the court.
Another player in which I call the glue, Jabari Scuefield, this kid first was the youngest on our team playing all season at age 15 on our 16u team. He kept this team together through some of the most difficult times this year and he really came through for us especially playing out of position all year long.
What players are you excited about for next year’s PrepHoops Circuit squad?
I have three guys who next year I’m expecting to have big years next year. Lee Thomas, Shane Hough Jr., and Julian Colon. These guys filled in a lot of gaps for us this season so I believe with more time and preparation they will have breakout seasons.
What did you enjoy most about participating in the PrepHoops Circuit?
I really loved the whole concept of the Circuit. My guys got more college looks and attention more than ever before. This Circuit really is for the teams and for the players vs other Circuits who are more name than anything so I was really pleased by that.
