9 strong teams played 4 games each. 2 in pool play and then 2 in bracket play. Just Us/PHH defeated a tough 2023 Elite team in an exciting finish. Blue Chip Elite and GGB made it to the Final-4.
Here are more of the top players from the tourney: (All incoming freshman)
Mathew Henry-Harrison SG 5’9 Buckeye (Divinity)
-Downhill stud with big hands, good length and big feet. Streaky perimeter shooter but arguably top guard absorbing contact and scoring through it with great body control. He has no fear to rebound deep in paint with the bigs.
Brandon Trillie SF 6’3 Desert Vista (Divinity)
-Long skilled wing forward. Can shoot it from deep plus get to the rack. Very good finisher in transition with either hand. Good rebounder in his area and competes hard on defense moving his feet well in space.
Nathan Ko PG 6’0 Casteel (2023 Elite)
-Good ball handler and great decision maker. Uses tighter handle to get downhill and can score it through contact. Capable 3pt shooter and has a high IQ. Makes pinpoint passes to teammates and should be a varsity contributor his sophomore season and may even start next year.
Adonis Thomas W 6’2 Ironwood (AZ Swish)
-Long and lean wing is very skilled. He has good size for position and can shoot it consistently from the perimeter.
KJ Perry SF 6’1 Gilbert (Legion of Hoops)
-Athletic wing likes to get downhill. He has a quick second jump and rebounds at a good rate. His body control in the air is very good trying to score it in the lane through traffic. He takes contact well and is fast in the open court.
Demarion Anderson PG 5’9 Youngker (GGB)
-True floor general makes great passes and decisions with the ball. He can turn the corner on his defender and he sees plays develop quickly to make passes to cutting teammates. He is a streaky perimeter shooter.
