Joe Meador, Franklin County – All about the upside with Joe. In one game he hit 5 threes and 6 dunks. The next game he stood in the corner on offense and got pushed around on defense. When his motor is running, Meador looks like a star. When it’s not running, he’s just another guy out there.
Nick Moseley, St Xavier – Another St. X Senior, Nick made his open shots and played well over the course of the afternoon. He’s not going to blow you away with athleticism or length but Moseley makes winning plays and should have a big Senior season.
Jalen Price, Central – Jalen didn’t get to play with the ball in his hands all the time but the 5’11 point guard made good things happen when he got his touches. Central lost some players to transfer this summer and Price has become even more important for the Yellow Jackets this season.
Alex Schalch, Mason County – Alex looked better than I’ve ever seen him on Saturday. He showed some skill level I didn’t know he had and even got a couple of dunks. With a 4.1 GPA and a 20 ACT, he should have some college suitors by the end of the year.
Nik Sorrell, Glasgow – Another kid who should have college looks soon, Nik showed his dynamic scoring ability in every game on Saturday. Sorrell was likely the toughest cover in all of camp and should have some massive scoring games this winter.
Timmy Thompson, Berea – The 5’8 guard isn’t going to blow anyone away when he walks in the gym but Thompson plays with good motor and a high basketball IQ. He should be a factor for Berea this season.
Ben Vickers, Grant County – Vickers played on one of the more talented teams at the Expo and fit right in. His ability to score the ball shined when he made open shots and got to the rim off the bounce. Ben plays hard every trip down the court, even when he’s tired.
Daeshawn White, Newport – White has some very big shoes to fill as a Senior after losing a deep and battle tested 2019 class who were contenders for the state tournament. On Saturday, Daeshawn showed a very polished scoring set and never gets rattled. He’s a difference maker in Northern Kentucky for sure.
