All Expo First Team:
Forward Rashad Bishop, Ballard – Rashad was dominant in the post all day. He likely averaged over 15 rebounds per game and finished everything around the rim. He’s a consistent jumper away from being a mid major or better D1 prospect.
Forward Darrius Washington, Fern Creek – One of our Co-MVPs, Darrius had a good all around day. He scored, he rebounded and most impressively he showed his entire skill set as he put the ball on the floor and showed excellent vision as a passer.
Combo Guard DeAjuan Stepp, West Jessamine – Our other Co-MVP, Stepp showed what he’s capable of on offense while also proving to be an excellent on ball defender with a high motor and leadership capabilities.
Combo Guard Nik Sorrell, Glasgow – Sorrell was likely the best pure scorer at camp. He was able to pour in 20+ points each game while getting buckets at the rim, from three and in the midrange.
Point Guard Jaden Rogers, Fern Creek – Jaden excelled at camp and made it look easy. At 6’2 now, Rogers is one of the best college prospects in the class in 2021 and continues to improve each time out. He shined all afternoon at the Expo.
All Expo Second Team:
Forward Alex Schalch, Mason County – Alex showed a skill level at the Expo that I didn’t know he possessed. He also looked more athletic than I’ve seen in the past.
Forward Noah Courtney, Male – Hard to keep Courtney off the top team. Had there been 6 spots per team, he would have been on the first team. Either way, Noah is under-recruited right now and should get some D1 looks if he continues developing like he has the past year.
Wing Colby Napier, Knott County Central – Colby had a tremendous day at the Expo and proved he needs to be in the conversation for the best shooter in the state. He’s been off the radar previously but will move up in the next rankings update.
Combo Guard Trent Findley, Seneca – Trent’s move from Male looks like a great idea. Often overlooked as a role play for the Bulldogs, Findley could be a star for the Redhawks this season. He should also get some well deserved college attention.
Combo Guard DaShawn Jackson, Frederick Douglass – DaShawn had a nice dunk down the lane that he hasn’t really shown before and combined that with his usual solid play and ability to shoot the ball and Jackson solidified his top 10 ranking in the class.
