2022
Tarris Reed, Jr. 6’8″ Chaminade: The young big’un was the most impressive post player at the elite camp. He was a force at both ends of the court with his scoring, rebounding and shot-blocking. He had strong moves in the post to the point where he was drawing double teams on the regular and he passed well out of them. His shooting touch from 10-15 feet was effective and he can also put the ball on the floor to make plays.
Larry Hughes, Jr. 6’4″ CBC: An excellent young prospect who can really shoot the basketball from the perimeter. He can catch and shoot it with a quick release to go along with good movement without the basketball. He was a little more aggressive on the drive and he showcase some good action in the post where he used his size against smaller guards. His turnaround jumper in the lane was money.
Brandon Mitchell-Day 6’5″ MICDS: A versatile young wing player who can excel at several different positions. He has good handles and a good feel for the game for passing and making his teammates better. He is solid on the drive and can finish in the lane well, plus he rebounds well at both ends of the court. He’s a natural wing, but he was battling other bigs on defense during the camp and he held his own.
Nick Kramer 6’3″ SLUH: A tough young wing player who was a knock-down shooter from 3-point range. He has a stout build and the physical strength to hold his own against bigger players, but he is most effective on the perimeter where he was hitting shots from well beyond the 3-point line.
2023
Jayden Nicholson 6’3″ Hazelwood Central: A very skilled lefty with a nice combination of power and finesse in his game. He performs well with the ball in his hands as he can muscle his way to the basket with tough moves or pull up for perimeter jumpers. He can also use his size to take advantage of smaller defenders in the low post.
Jorden Williams 5’9″ Whitfield: A quick point guard who had a very impressive day with his ability to play at a fast tempo and still make good decisions under control. He did a good job of penetrating in the lane and making the right play, whether it was a layup or floater or the drop off pass to an open teammate.
Darin Conley 6’2″ Pembroke Hill: A very solid young wing player with a versatile game that can work inside or on the perimeter. He has a good motor and he made a lot of plays on the dribble with his ability to attack the basket and score. He also rebounded well and can excel in the transition game.
Devin Conley 5’10” Pembroke Hill: A quick point guard who had the ability to distribute the basketball and get buckets when he needed to. He can play with good pace, but he can also keep defenders off balance with his ability to change speeds and directions. He can also knock down open 3-pointers to keep defenders honest.
