Continue ReadingPrep Hoops Missouri was in Columbia on Saturday to take in the action at the University of Missouri Elite Camp, which was held at the Mizzou Arena. More than 120 players were in attendance at the camp. Here is a look at the “Best Of” at Mizzou in several different categories:
Best Shooter: KJ Lee 6’6″ Fort Zumwalt North ’21: The slim sniper was knocking down consistently from long distance in the drills and in the five on five scrimmage games.
Best Bucket-Getter: Isaiah Williams 6’2″ Lutheran North ’21: Talented southpaw was displaying three-level scoring ability and the confidence to get buckets against any defender who he came across.
Best Low Post Player: Tarris Reed, Jr. 6’8″ Chaminade ’22: Physical young post who was dominant around the basket as a scorer, rebounder and shot blocker. Also showcased good passing skills.
Best Defensive Player: Cole Farrell 6’4″ Hazelwood Central ’21: Very athletic wing player who displayed some dominant stretches in the individual defensive drills. Has the ability to be a top-level defender.
Best Stretch 4: Tysen Brennan 6’5″ Lee’s Summit West ’20: Solid big who was knocking down 3-pointers, but also setting up teammates with his improved handles and passing ability.
Best Slasher: Jeremiah Walker 6’2″ DeSmet ’21: Strong young guard who was getting to the basket with a variety to tough moves that led to buckets at the rim.
Best Passer: Jaden Winfield 6’4″ Chaminade ’21: Athletic wing with a high basketball IQ who was dropping some nice dimes with both hands.
Best Incoming Freshman: Jayden Nicholson 6’3″ Hazelwood Central ’23: Impressive young player with guard skills and a physical frame that enables him to get to the basket and finish.
