Hayman was about as impressive as a prospect that was in the building for the Prep Hoops Top 250, and I even heard some making the case for him being the MVP of the camp. He was able to dominate every single game, on both sides of the ball. He plays with a high motor and was super competitive every game. He shoots the ball really well, and showed that he can shoot just as well off the bounce as off the catch.
TJ Small 6’3 2020 Brother Martin
Small is another prospect that was able to put his mark on every single game. I was really impressed by how well he was able to get to his spots, and simply elevate over the defense, whether that was at the rim or on the pull up jumper. He is a really good athlete, and in the paint, defenders simply bounced off him. Small gets really good extension on his jumper, and as a result makes it really tough to contest his shot.
Joshua Washington 6’5 2023 Jesuit
Washington was one of the youngest prospects at camp, but was still able standout, which is pretty tough for most younger players. At 6’5 and solid frame, he has a high school ready body, which definitely helped him at camp. He showed off an impressive shooting stroke, and range extending out beyond the 3 point line. I was also impressed with how unselfish his game was, and he consistently hit the open man after attracting help when driving.
Ben Ponder 6’2 2021 Calvary Baptist
If there is one thing that separated Ponder from the rest of the pack, it was simply his effort level. His motor ran as hot as anyone at the camp, and effort level is an easy way to separate yourself. He crashed the boards hard, and created extra possessions for his team with the way that he was able to hoard offensive rebounds. He showed that he has improved as a finisher around the rim, especially around bigger players.
