Sebastian Greer (Gateway Illinois 17U)
Greer got more tick for the benchless Gateway squad over the weekend and was able to display this athleticism. The point guard can hit an occasional shot and uses his speed in the open floor.
Jeffery Oakley (Team M.O.R.E. 16U)
Oakley was one of the bigger emerging prospects from the weekend. The angular wing with a thin frame hit the game winner in one game sneaking in for an offensive rebound put back. We then saw him drop 23 points against Young & Reckless. Slick scorer that takes quality angles for scores on euro steps and runners. Can hit threes when left open spotting up.
Nick Owens (Team M.O.R.E. 16U)
Owens has size for the two guard spot at 6’3”. He has length on the perimeter. Knocked down a pull up jumper, but was at his best scoring in transition. The Marshall wing is a name we will continue to monitor.
Demarcius Moore (Team M.O.R.E. 16U)
Moore is a well-built small forward with broad shoulders. Finished through contact on multiple slashes.
Devon Vanderheydt (Peoria Area Elite 16U)
This power forward from PAE was outstanding playing on both the 16U and 17U level. What he did best was stretch the floor with his perimeter shooting. Quick and clean stroke. One to monitor going forward.
Tyrus Buckner (Next Generation 17U)
Buckner is a power forward with some projectability. He is a quality rebounder and can hit shots from mid-range.
Johnny Koo (Full Package 17U)
Koo broke out with his three point shooting. He drilled an array of threes from the wings and corners. Clean shooting stroke as a shooting specialist.
Joel Williams (Full Package 17U)
Williams went crazy shooting for Full Package in the first half. The Mooseheart wing had several transition finishes along with drilling deep shots. Two way potential out of this kid.
Alex Figueroa (All-In Athletics 17U)
Speaking of quality shooting that is what this two guard brought to the table all weekend for his squad. Spot up wing that played well off his teammates.
Kaleb Naylor (All-In Athletics 17U)
Naylor is a thick bodied shooting guard that is aggressive attacking with the ball in his hands. Finishes well in the lane with toughness.
Markus Becton (Hoops4Health 17U)
This was my first look at the St. Joseph’s wing. He is a long two guard that used his quickness to get on the glass and was fluid handling it length of the court for scores.
