The beginning of the month provided a front row seat for local talent, while the end of the month enabled that talent to show the country what Colorado has to offer. Here is a list of some of the top stock riser in July.
Ty Robinson / Eaglecrest / 2021
Robinson is ranked as the top player in his class in the state, a title that is well earned. Nothing about his game is disappointing, a true floor general. Ty is a head turner who’s play makes him standout no matter who’s around him. There are a lot of reasons why so many schools have taken interest in him, expect him to continue to impress.
Keyshawn Maltbia / Fountain-Fort Carson / 2020
A true veteran leader, this senior is stacked with a versatile set of skills. His teammates feed off of his electric energy on offense and defense. Keyshawn is a standout star whenever he’s on the court.
Isaac Jessup / Resurrection Christian / 2020
Isaac is a reliable shooter from range, especially from the three-point range. His presence on offense is that of a security blanket when points are needed. Every cast needs strong supporters and Jessup is that guy.
Tristan Hurdle / Highlands Ranch / 2020
Tristan is an absolute scorer. He is a smooth shooter with the athleticism to perform above the rim. With an ability to score on command with an understanding of how to flow with the game, it comes as no surprise that Hurdle is on quite a few watchlists.
Skylar Wilson / Eaglecrest / 2021
Skylar truly raised his stock in July. One of the more underrated players in his class. Wilson is the type of player that keeps the game exciting with his high-flying abilities. His size makes his shot borderline impossible to block, and his guard hard to get around.
DeAngelo Horn / Smoky Hill/ 2021
DeAngelo is a walking highlight reel. Stopping him seems impossible whenever the ball is in his hands. If his goal is to score, he will be sure that no one stops him from doing so. When on defense, he refuses to be beat. Horn is a must watch player that will not disappoint.
Ethan Royx / Falcon / 2021
Ethan is a guard that knows how to shift the momentum of a game. He is a strong shooter from the corner, and a space creator when driving to the lanes by using deceiving head fakes. Keep an eye on Royx, he has the ability to standout.
Arden Walker / Cherry Creek / 2021
Walker is the definition of an athlete. He is a big body that moves with the fluidity of a little guy. On offense, he has the ability to use his size to create space when rebounding and scoring. On defense, he is hard to move or go around because of his size and speed. Walker is a player with a skill set that makes him a true asset.
Julian Hammond / Cherry Creek / 2021
One of the top ranked players in the state, Hammond is a name that will be mentioned a lot. He is the type of point guard who knows how control the flow of a game, especially on offense. Julian is a legitimate star who will continue to shine.
Kendale Johnson / George Washington / 2021
If tasked to describe Kendale with one word, “beast” would be my choice. A shooter from distance, a force at the rim, and a lockdown defender. Johnson plays as if his only motivation is success.
Brayden Carter / Mullen / 2021
Listed at 6’7”, Brayden is a swat master when defending any shooter. No shot is safe when he’s near the rim. He is a player who gets rebounds and points with ease. Carter’s height mixed with his agility makes him a cheat code.
Teon Thomas / Vista Peak / 2021
Thomas is a legitimate shooter. He can pull up from various spots as well as drive to the rim. He is also a defensive scrapper, unafraid to go up and block a shot at the rim. Thomas has a ceiling that is yet to be seen.
Jalen Weaver / Smoky Hill / 2021
Jalen is the total package. His demeanor pre and post game is a type of calm that is similar to that of some of the greats. Jalen’s offensive game is based around quietly scoring doubles with a solid assist count. On defense, his becomes an impossible storm for his opponents. Jalen Weaver is something special.

Mekhi is a player who has the height to play as a big but has the moves to play from the outside. He is the type of player that can be used in multiple position on the court. Murphy is an athlete who will always find a way to score.
