“This summer was big for me,” says Noland. “I worked on my ball-handling and off the dribble shooting and it really has paid off.”
Noland is bound to make another leap in the Fall 2021 player ranking update after making a significant one in the summer update. Since the spring, schools have taken notice of his regular showings on the basketball court. He has garnered offers from Austin Peay, Sam Houston State, and Troy during the grassroots season.
IN C.J.’S WORDS
Austin Peay: “The coaching staff said they like the way I hustle, have a nose for the ball, and how I am involved in every play on both ends of the floor.”
Sam Houston State: “They offered me during Peach Jam. Coach Mudge has been recruiting me and he says they like the way I ignite the offense to get myself and everybody going.”
Troy: “Coach Cross is a good coach. I’ve known him from his days at UT-Arlington and TCU. He said he likes my game and knows how much Coach Gober (his high school head coach) has put into me and what I’ll get out of it.”
BOTTOM LINE
Noland has not taken any unofficial visits yet, but he plans on visiting each of these universities sometime soon. The returning Waxahachie star is a sturdy-built guard with a tremendous dribble-drive game. He does a solid job of getting to the basket despite not being a very explosive athlete.
Expect for him and recent transfer Jalen Lake to form a deadly duo in the backcourt for the Indians. With them leading the charge, Waxahachie will be in the conversation for the favorites to win district and in contention for a state tournament appearance.
