Continue ReadingMarcus Sloan of OTR Exposure put on an event with the class of 2021 and 2022 from the Greater Houston Area. This event was an Invite only as some of the Top Prospect from each class participated. Here is a look at my 2021 First Team members.
Ja’vier Francis 6’8 PF • 2021 • Westbury Christian HS PHTX75 (as seen in the picture)
Was very dominant in the paint. He was posterizing his opponents. Has a great second bounce. He was a double-double machine the entire day. Solid footwork in the post. Good post skill set as he was able to position himself around opponents to score the ball. If he works on his handles it will take him to another level and get him away from the traditional post player.
Ramon Walker 6’5 SF • 2021 • Alvin Shadow Creek HS PHTX75
Started off with a nasty two-handed dunk on a 6’8 opponent. A super high motor prospect who was the best 2021 prospect overall in the building. You name it he did it. Scored at a high rate at all three levels. Plays above the rim. Solid defender with great lateral movement. Can guard smaller guards and some post players. Has a good offensive IQ. Will be a big-time problem for Shadow Creek this year.
Ja’Von Jackson 6’1 CG • 2021 • Summer Creek HS PHTX75
Strapped up and loaded. The saucy combo was able to create for himself at will. He was the best scorer in the building. Tough dribble combo’s with good footwork and awareness of how the defense was reading him. He had his opponents on skates at times. Knocked down some big-time shots and got to the cup with ease.
Amaree Abram 6’2 PG • 2022 • Port Arthur Memorial HS
He brought his tool bag as he does every time he steps foot on the hardwood. Super high motor prospect who can score with the best of them. He’s coming off a big Summer with Nike’s E15 – JL3 Elite who qualified for the Peach Jam. Speedy guard that is decisive with the ball in his hands. Great IQ and makes tough passes look easy. He played with the 2021 prospect and was giving them fits. It’s great to see how his game has elevated from just a three-point shooter last year to a scoring facilitator.
Elijah Lawrence 5’10 PG • 2021 • Bellaire HS PHTX75
Quick first step. Great in pick and roll as he read what the defense was giving him and took it. Crafty with the ball in his hands. The mid-range game was on point. Knocked down a lot of trey balls as well. Good acceleration and deceleration to control the tempo of the game as well.
