On Sunday afternoon at St. Pius x St. Matthias Academy, Beach City Hoop’s 2nd Annual SoCal Clash kicked off to plenty of buzz. Spectators were treated to games between players from the Class of 2020 against the Class of 2021.
Sunday afternoon’s exhibition between the SoCal Clash 2020 and 2021 boys was a frenzy. The pace was fast and scores were faster. In a game full of highlight jams and long range three pointers, the 2020 boys found themselves victorious, 137-125.

Judah Brown (Pacifica Christian) was rewarded with the player of the game award after leading all scorers with 29 points. Brown got his points thru a myriad of slashes to the rim that resulted in huge dunks, throw-down putbacks, and acrobatic layups. The St. Mary’s commit is a proven athlete who is a walking highlight waiting to happen. When not throwing down thunderous slams, Brown is able to use his athleticism to help from the weak side to alter and contest shots at the rim. Brown finished the game with 29 pts and 4 blocks.
Rounding out the top performers of the 2020 squad were rising athletic big man Bradley Ezewiro (Bishop Montgomery) with 25 points and scoring guard Attin Wright (Fairmont Prep) with 23 points. Leading the way for the 2021 team was the lefty flamethrower TJ Wainwright (Westchester) who finished with 26 points including 4 three pointers. Slashing guard Tyler Powell (Ribet Academy) had 14 points and combo guard KJ Simpson (Chaminade HS) had 11 for the 2021 team.

Keith Dinwiddie (Fairfax HS) combo guard, shooter
