With this being the future sophomore and junior classes in the upcoming season, it was exciting to get the opportunity to see what could very well be in store for us next season.
Fayetteville Flash 2022 Guard Cam Oates: The quick and crafty lefty is a tough player to defend as he has a quick first step which allows him to blow by defenders with ease. We expect to see him playing on the ball more often this season with his high school squad as Trinity has lost some players to graduation. We have seen him perform well against various levels of competition which included this past summer playing with Adidas Team Loaded.
Fayetteville Flash 2022 Guard Anthony Geddie Jr: He has some big shoes to fill as he will have to step in and produce for Fayetteville Academy after they graduated a D1 PG. His shooting ability from three point land is one of the attributes that you will notice about him early on, he gets good arc on his shoot which is key as he is a smaller guard.
Fayetteville Flash 2022 Guard Tristan Harkins: A knock down shooter from deep that also has shown some improved ball handling skills, he will be looking to make a larger impact on his high school team this season. Other attributes that you will see from him that are impressive are his IQ for the game and overall passing ability. For the most part he makes the right reads and puts passes on point for teammates to get easy buckets.
Fayetteville Flash 2021 Forward/Center Robert Wright: Plenty of potential in his game, he has a chance to be really good if he puts in the time and work. At about 6’7 with a body that looks like he plays some football as a second sport, he’s not a player that will necessarily get moved around with ease. We saw some flashes of how good he can be with some rim rattling dunks offensively and blocked shots on the defensive end.
Fayetteville Flash 2021 Guard Kaylon Keys: One of the better two way players at the event, he gives the same amount of effort on both ends of the floor, and is a player that seems to only get better as time goes on. He’s another player that will see an increased role with his high school team this season and can be used to play the PG or wing spot due to his skillset.
Hoop Phi Hoop 2021 Guard Venyamin Abraham: Was the best shooter for his team on the day as he knocked down shots from midrange and deep at an efficient rate. He was especially effective in catch and shoot situations from three point land from the corners, which helped his squad to make a comeback after facing a large deficit in their first game.
