Here are some of the top shooters from the summer
Zion Dettman, 17U Inspired Athletics
Dettman is one of the best shooters in North Dakota and while he showed throughout the summer with Inspired Athletics that he’s much more than just a strong shooter, his best skill is his ability to space the floor and get his shot. His range extends well beyond the 3-point line and that gravity creates a lot of opportunity. The extra space benefits his teammates and it gives him opportunities to get by guys because they have to play him so close. He’s also an effective shooter on and off the ball.
Caleb Duffield, 16U ND Attack
Duffield is one of the top scorers in Class B North Dakota and over the course of the summer, he made a big impact as a shooter. He’s not the biggest guy but he’s quick, has deep range and shoots it without much of a conscious. He can get hot and fill it up in a hurry when he gets into a rhythm.
Tyler Loe, 17U ND Attack
Loe is another uber-talented all around scorer at the Class B level and he showed he’s capable of taking his game to another level. An aggressive scorer at all three levels, Loe’s deep range and quick release makes defenders uncomfortable and can be difficult to keep up with. When he gets going, he can take over stretches of a game.
Brooks Carroll, 16U ND Attack
Carroll looks like a breakout candidate heading into his junior season and playing Boden Skunberg at Jamestown will afford him an opportunity to do something he does extremely well: shoot. Carroll has a pure shooting stroke from deep and is money particularly from the baseline and corners.
Jaden Hamilton, 17U ND Attack Black
At 6-foot-6, Hamilton is one of the best pure shooters in the state from deep and in the mid-range. He’s smooth as a ball handler and seems to understand how to get his shot off against man-to-man defenders and when he gets a chance to set his feet on a kickout, he’s money from 3-point range.
Dante Gunville, 17U ND Attack Blue
Gunville lived up to his billing as one of the best shooters in North Dakota, consistently providing long-range shooting for ND Attack Blue. He’s got good size for a wing and his quick release makes him really difficult to contest and both for defenders.
