[no. 2] Kalen Etzler | 6-8 PF | Convoy Crestview / All Ohio Red
Ohio State commit. Etzler is a reigning State Champion who combines a 40-plus-percent 3-point stroke with elite defensive versatility. Great feel as a passer and a growing mid- to low-post game. Runs the floor hard. Deflects a ton of passes and shots.
[no. 5] Tyrese Hughey | 6-6 F | Thomas Worthington / C2K Elite
High-motor athlete with a strong frame whose skill-set is expanding rapidly. Hughey is a capable rim-runner who throws down two-handed dunks consistently. He’s, however, also adding a face-up and mid-post game that resembles more of a big wing. Shooting it well from outside.
Duquesne, Eastern Michigan, Miami (OH), Ohio, and Youngstown State offered.
[no. 6] Jalin Billingsley | 6-7 PF | Lutheran East / Ohio Basketball Club
Fluid forward with nearly every physical tool in the book and tremendous ball skills. Billingsley cleanly and smoothly shoots pull-up jumpers and short hook shots against the contest. He operates like a guard off the bounce at times and has as high of a ceiling as anyone in this list. Flashes activity as a rebounder and shot-blocker.
Eastern Michigan, Ohio, and VCU offered.
[no. 9] Alex Williams | 6-4 F | Moeller / C2K Elite
The body of a bruiser at 225 pounds and the ball skills of a talented 2-guard. Williams contributes to winning and fills any gap a team needs. All-around player with defensive versatility. Shooting it well from outside. Rebounds. Makes good decisions. Creates shots for himself and others.
Robert Morris offered.
[no. 10] Josh Irwin | 6-5 PF | West Geauga / TNBA Ohio
Irwin rehabilitated from ankle surgery and hit the floor in July, appearing to be at full health.
High-IQ and competitive forward with a productive inside and outside game. The lefty likes to pick-and-pop and can really stroke it. He also has layers to his mid- and low-post game when it comes to counter moves and hook shots. Patiently executes advanced moves inside. Rebounds well. Rare defensive communicator on the back-end. Sees the entire floor on face-ups.
[no. 17] Magnus Entenmann | 6-8 PF | Upper Arlington / Nova (Lemon)
Entenmann has a load of growth potential and general upside. At a lanky 6-foot-8, he’s already hitting 3-pointers with consistency and playing with attention-grabbing effort. Runs the floor the entire game. Keeps the ball high on finishes and touches it off the glass over defenders. Active screener and shot-blocker who will only become more impactful in those areas as he grows. Comfortable over the shoulder from the mid-post. Great length.
Although Entenmann is our highest ranked newcomer in the class at no. 17, he still may be too low.
[no. 21] Jack Pugh | 6-5 F | Bradley
Athletic and powerful combo forward with great slashing ability. Pugh can get all the way to the rack and absorb contact on finishes. Or he can stop and kick after a second defender shows. Pugh has an outrageous motor. Chiseled frame. Rebounds with tenacity.
[no. 26] Henry Raynor | 6-6 PF | St. Ignatius / TNBA Ohio
Remarkably skilled 4. Raynor can face-up from the mid-range or stretch bigs out to the arch before putting them in a blender with his spin moves and fakes. Shoots it comfortably off the dribble and under duress. Advanced post game. Although he’s slight of frame right now, Raynor has time to grow.
[no. 27] Mitch Raifsnider | 6-8 PF | Margaretta / Ohio Buckets
Raifsnider combines skill and size. Active screener and rebounder. He can shoot it from outside and finishes with touch around the basket, too. Defends the pick and roll well because of his mobility. Covers ground quickly as a helpside defender.
Ashland offered.
[no. 31] Deshaun Huffman | 6-8 PF | Dunbar / Team Flyght
Intriguing athlete who is both wiry and bouncy. He may not be the most skilled kid yet but Huffman is already wildly versatile on defense. Finishes through contact at the rim. Bouncy.
