[no. 57] Max Stepaniak | 6-6 C | Ross / Apex
Stepaniak’s massive wingspan and lean frame is very intriguing. Add that to the fact he can step out to comfortably shoot it and score over the shoulder and we’re looking at a potential scholarship kid. Mobile. Provides rim protection. Adding size to his frame would take his game to another level.
[no. 65] Maro Egodotaye | 6-8 C | Dayton Carroll / Team Flyght
Very intriguing prospect with a thick, strong build and light feet. Egodotaye may not see a lot of varsity time until he’s a senior but his size and mobility is undeniable. Plays hard and with underrated defensive instincts. Wants to be around the rim and use his size to affect the game — rather than looking to shoot and step away. Good rebounder.
[no. 68] Dan Nauseef | 6-6 C | Chaminade Julienne | Shining Star – Price
Effort big with a lean body. Creates second chance opportunities by using his length and actively pursuing the ball. Quick enough to defend the pick and roll and contest shots from stretch bigs. Solid scoring touch inside.
[no. 73] Ani Elliot | 6-6 C | Springfield / Miller Factory
Elliot possesses the athleticism and strong body of a guy who can impact the game inside. He flashes activity as a shot-blocker and rebounder. Quick off the ground. Decent touch. Upside as a rim-runner.
[no. 80] Carsten Mayes | 6-7 C | Toledo St. Francis / All Ohio Gold
Athletic spark-plug who runs the floor and provides rebounding. Terrific second jump and mobility. Varsity experience should help his basketball awareness — Mayes fumbles drop-downs too frequently, often because he’s caught off-guard. Either way, Mayes is quickly improving and has plenty of upside.
[no. 81] Zachary George | 6-5 C | Moeller / Shining Star – Price
Strong frame and great size for a low-post big. He can go over the shoulder and rebound in traffic. Makes good decisions with the ball when he faces up.
[no. 84] Jaylen Davis | 6-6 C | Cleveland Heights
Long and skinny post player with some athleticism. Actively defends the post by fighting for position and using his length to make post entries difficult. Finishes with touch in traffic.
[no. 103] Logan Smith | 6-6 C | Martins Ferry
Smith made a nice impression at the OHSBCA Showcase because of his ball skills. Actively screened and made good decisions with the ball. Comfortable catching around the perimeter and making a pass or putting it on the floor. Good touch and effort.
