It could be from what I saw myself over the summer, or even from their past performance prior.
These players may not be the highest on the rankings, but they can go!
Let’s Go:
82. Zion Reynolds (6’3” / SF / Western Hills / Ohio Players): We have highlighted Zion once already in the rankings, but just a player I wanted to highlight again. A player I watched maybe the most of the last few months, that really improved. Always finding new ways to score it, whether it’s a finishing move or from range. Reynolds rebounds well, and has a quick burst to his game. One of the tougher players through the lane I watched, on a mission to score.
97. Makhale Massey (6’3” / SF / Northland / Hidden Gems Black 17U): Massey will take over as the go to bucket for the Northland team, after graduating their biggest producer. Massey is an athletic wing who makes plays on both ends. Bouncy, blocks shots at the rim and defends the ball handler tough. Massey can drive and score off either hand, without a problem. Capable shooter that can knock it down, as well. Massey has put together some good moments when the staff has watched him, and could be an eventual riser.
122. Aaron Davis (6’0” / G / Cincinnati Woodward / Ohio Players): Davis was able to grow as a player a ton this summer. From spring to July, you could see the growth in his IQ, and the fact that he was playing tougher. Aaron has the ability to work with, or without the ball. Finishes in transition, and works off ball with motion and cuts. The Woodward guard competes on defense, tough on-ball & gets after loose balls. Isn’t afraid to give up his body, and makes winning plays!
132. Nolan Burney (6’5” / C / Carlisle / Ohio Players): Burney was the player to count on often for the Ohio Players in July. Established himself as a force down low, with the ability to stretch it and add another scoring option. Rebounded the ball well, and brung his team up when they needed him the most. Burney is a player I’m interested in watching more as his high school career progresses.
140. Brock Waits (5’11” / G / Grove City / Pumas-Norris): Brock Waits is a name I think Central Ohio could wake up to more this coming year. Waits plays tough on both ends with a good IQ also, communicates and is a vocal leader. Played on a solid grassroots team that was a good fit for him. Waits is an athlete that can do a bit of it all. Gets up and down the court, scores through the lane and showed a knockdown shooting ability.
