Continue ReadingThe Class of 2021 is one of the strongest classes that may have ever gone through Indiana. Top to bottom, there are guys at every position that have the ability to play at the college level. There are currently 26 players with offers to play at the next level. All but one of those 26 prospects have a D1 offer at this point and there are many more to come.
In the coming year and a half before this class graduates, there is the probability of having 50+ players with a scholarship opportunity to play basketball at the next level. The NAIA, DIII, and DII schools have been holding out for the most part with this group as they wrap up their current recruiting classes. There is a slew of talent that has yet to make the list of offers but they still have a lot of basketball left before Spring 2021. With the high school season quickly approaching, most of these guys are going to be turned to as the key player for their teams which will give them, and others, more opportunities to showcase their skill sets. The Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo is quickly approaching and we are looking to showcase this class as they have talent deep into our rankings.
Current Hot Names
Luke Goode – 6’5″ | SF | Indy Heat Trey Kaufman – 6’7″ | PF | Indiana Elite Blake Wesley – 6’3″ | SG | EG10 Khristian Lander – 6’0″ | PG | Indiana Elite
Names like Caleb Furst, Khristian Lander, Trey Kaufman, Luke Goode, and Blake Wesley have recently been blowing up. Through the month of July, they have each added strong programs to their list of offers due to their play on their respective circuit (Nike EYBL, Adidas Gauntlet, UAA). Many Midwest and in-state schools are starting to try and keep in-state talent, in-state. This is a new development over the past few years as previously, many storied programs had troubles landing some of the top in-state recruits. JR Konieczny, DJ Hughes, and Jayden Brewer are a few prospects who are recently starting to refine their game and come into their own. Their athleticism was on full display this summer but they started to clean up a few areas of their game which will help them add to their list and translate to the next level.
Diamonds in the Rough
Keon Thompson – 6’0″ | PG | Indiana Elite Malik Stanley – 5’10” | PG | EG10
Prospects like Keon Thompson, Curt Hopf, Khamani Smith, Bret Bosley, Donovan Banett, Quimari Patterson, Trevor Taylor, Malik Stanley, and Jaden Thomas will start hitting the radar. Many of the top big men in the class have been getting the early looks but this class is loaded with guards that can play at an elite level. Thompson and Smith of this list are next level athletes with the ability to take over the game on the offensive end. Hopf is an all-around prospect who can do damage quickly on the offensive glass. Malik Stanley, Quimari Patterson, and Trevor Taylor are shifty guards with a quick, explosive first step. The Class of 2021 has the potential to make a big impact on the college basketball scene.
