Continue ReadingThe AAU season is over and we are diving into the individual player rankings. We move over to the forwards from the senior class. Amazing how many high on this list are going to big time prep schools. With the popularity of the Grind Session at an all time high. Many have moved in to join the AZ prep teams to showcase their talents at the highly competitive atmosphere.
1. Osasere Ighodaro (Desert Vista)
-One of the top forwards on the West Coast. Versatile player can play both forward spots and is one of the best passing forwards in the country and can shoot it from the perimeter and block shots at a good rate.
2. Jason Harris (Higley)
-Strong inside outside threat is also a star in football as well. Dad is former U of A star/Chicago Bears player and Harris will most likely play football in college.
3. Jhaylon Martinez (Dream City Christian)
-Force inside with his skill and strength and knows how to use his body to his advantage. Recently verbally committed to UNLV.
4. Fallou Diagne (AZ Compass Prep)
-Athletic face-up 4/5 has a lot to like. Shoots 3, handles it, plays above rim and been tested on the highest levels.
5. Andre Harris (Hillcrest post grad)
-Low post stud who has impeccable footwork and passing ability. He, like Ighodaro, is one of the better passers on the West Coast. Has puts it on the floor and can face-up to the stripe. Has over 10+ D1 offers to choose from.
6. DeAndre Henry (PHH Prep)
-Dre had a big summer and received some big offers. He has a great blend of strength, toughness and is improving his skill level it seems monthly.
7. Jabari Walker (AZ Compass Prep)
-Long forward who is breaking out. The son of former NBA player Samaki Walker has good skill and is slowly filling in his body.
8. Hunter Ruck (Rancho Solano Prep)
-Strong post player has a great frame/build and very athletic. Received a recent offer from UC Davis and looked great at the NCAA Camp.
9. Jerry Iliya (Paradise Honors)
-Big time motor and athlete. Defends multiple positions and improving his jumper.
10. Juhlawnei Stone (Dobson)
-Strong low post beast is a tough handle. Rebounds anything near him and plays above the rim. Verbally committed to Cal Baptist Univ.
11. Logan Phillips (Valley Christian)
-Long and lean finesse shooter. Versatile player can play the 1-4 and handles it like a guard. Not many in AZ are like Phillips. If he starts filling in, watch out!

1. Jalen Johnson (Bella Vista Prep) Athletic face-up shooter off the catch.
2. Devon Brooke (ALA-QC) Elite passing forward can stroke it from deep.
3. Tanner Poeschl (Skyline) Long and athletic lean forward can defend inside and out.
4. Anthony Garza (PHH Prep) Bouncy high motored forward is a glue guy for the next level.
5. TJ Green (Carl Hayden) Rim runner athlete can guard the 1-4. Starting to slowly face-up.
6. Xzavier Lino (Sunnyslope) Top corner 3pt shooter in the state from all forwards. Has good length to defend.
7. Paul Hayden (Sunnyslope) Burly forward can shoot it and is sneaky athletic.
8. Roy Eze (PHH Prep) Strong low post forward is a top-tier rebounder. He is very hard to push out deep in the paint.
9. Shemar Morrow (Shadow Mountain) Athletic forward seemingly defends every position. Above the rim player handles like a guard.
10. Chance Garland (McClintock) Over a 40 inch vert is a bigger point forward. Loves getting downhill and making plays.
11. JD Tsasa (Taylor Made Prep) Long and lean athletic young forward started HS at 13 years old. Graduated this year and will prep to get stronger/bigger. Skilled to the 3pt line and is still growing.
