Prep hoops takes a look at some 2020 Point Guards outside the Top 20 right here. The Palmetto State has plenty to offer for point guards at the next level. The new Prep Hoops rankings for the Palmetto State will be put out later this month. Which players will look to make a move ?
Nicholas BreneganNicholas Brenegan – Wade Hampton HS (Greenville)
Brenegan 6’0 is as tough as they come on the hardwood. Brenegan was voted Region Player of the Year last season. Brenegan isn’t afraid to take charges or dive on the floor for loose balls.
Zyan GilmoreZyan Gilmore – Clarendon Hall (Summerton)
Gilmore 5’11 plays the game so hard at all times while on the floor. Gilmore eclipsed 1,000 career points last season and helped the Saints win the SCISA Class 1A State Championship last year at (29-0). Gilmore really wants the ball in crunch time and is the ultimate gym rat according to Saints Head coach Anthony Reitenour.
Demetric Hardin – Lewisville HS (pictured on the front)
Hardin had a great summer with Carolina Pressure on the Grassroots Circuit. Hardin has good length and defends the passing lanes well. Hardin has the ability to extend the defense out three point range.
Jordan BerryJordan Berry – JL Mann HS
Berry finds the open man with his passing skills. Berry is back to lead the Patriots offense this season.
Tyjhai CalvinTyjhai Calvin – East Clarendon HS (Turbeville)
Calvin is built like a tank on the hardwood. Calvin is a running back for the Wolverines during football season. Calvin plays the game at a even keel and good pace. Calvin must improve on his perimeter shooting.
I’rek HartwellI’rek Hartwell – Hunter-Kinard-Tyler HS (Neeses)
Hartwell will look to produce more numbers this season with the graduation of Marlow Gilmore. Hartwell 5’11 will have to score the ball again this season for the Trojans after averaging 18.5 ppg last season.
Santana “Ty” Turner – Westwood HS
Turner and Lafayette both played in the NCAA Basketball Academy last month at the University of Illinois. Turner gets the ball into the gaps and finds the open man.
Tobias Lafayette – Porter Gaud
Lafayette is back for the Cyclones and Head Coach John Pearson. Lafayette a pass first point guard can play the game at both speeds. Lafayette has the ability to knockdown open shots on the floor.
