The four team high school tournament will be apart of the annual AEBL Hoops Championship Weekend. The AEBL, which is like a Drew League or Dyckman Basketball, is a pro-am league that goes on througout the summer here in Atlanta, Georgia. All games are and will be played at KIPP Collegiate, which is located in Atlanta, Georgia.
Last year’s high school showcase featured Wheeler High School, who are the defending champions, Lincoln Academy, 2018 runner-up, Shiloh High School, and Mountain View High School. This year’s field includes Therrell High School, class 2A defending state champions, Hiram High School, Southwest Dekalb, and once again, Wheeler High School.
Games will begin at 4pm local time and will be at KIPP Collegiate. Therrell will face Hiram at 4pm and Wheeler will face Southwest Dekalb to follow at 5pm local time. A lot of talent will be on hand this weekend during the showcase event. Prospects like 2020 W Eugene Brown III (Southwest Dekalb), 2021 F Robbie Armbrester (Therrell), 2023 PG Isaiah Collier (Wheeler), and others are expected to play.
Both games should be fun to watch and it should be a very exciting weekend in Atlanta, This will give us a quick look at these squads before the season officially begins in October. With the grassroots season just coming to a close, we should expect all four teams to just be a tad bit rusty and building chemistry with their new teammates.
