It’s one of the farthest reaching exposure events in the country due to the national reach that Prep Hoops has. The Top 250 has college coaches attending, but just as importantly, our phones will be ringing off the hook from more coaches looking for insight from the event.
There are many high quality players in Michigan that we’d love to see at the Prep Hoops Top 250. We have been looking at some examples of players from the class of 2020 that we’d like to see at the event. As you read, think about these things: Would I like to test myself against players like this? Does my situation compare to theirs? If so, register! Damarion Bonds (6’5″, CG, Waterford Mott)
There’s a vibe coming from Waterford Mott about this young athletes skill in the open floor. The Top 250 would be a great spot for him to show if off.
Justus Clark (5’10”, PG, North Farmington)
Clark is an impressive floor general with a calm demeanor. College coaches will be impressed with this young man, on and off the floor.
Shawn Coad (6’1″, SG, Grand Rapids Angels)
Coad might be the best dunker in Michigan. It’d be great to see his athleticism and explosiveness on September 22.
Ahmeer Cossom (6’4″, SF, Redford Union)
Cossom shows up every night and is steady as they come. He’s a versatile scorer and defender.
Shamar Howard (6’0″, PG, East Lansing)
Howard deserves more attention from scouts and coaches. He’s a spark plug on offense, bringing energy and hustle.
Rhett Laketa (6’5″, G/F, Hanover Horton)
Laketa is so versatile on both ends. He handles like a guard, can bang in the paint, and defend multiple positions. If he’s at the Top 250, college coaches should be there.
Nathan Lauer (6’2″, SG, Grand Rapids Angels)
If he’s there, Lauer will grab some attention at the Top 250. He’s a high IQ player that can scorch the nets with his jumper.
Mario Lucchesi (6’3″, CG, Dexter)
Lucchesi had a solid end to the grassroots season. He’s got size on the perimeter and the skill set to grab coaches attention at the Top 250.
Lucas Lyyski (6’7″, SF, Spring Lake)
Lyyski was excellent throughout grassroots season. He’s got BIG TIME potential and we’d like him to show it off at the event.
Zavion McClendon (6’4″, CG, Detroit Frederick Douglass)
McClendon has been making waves over the summer. He may be 1 of the most improved players in the class of 2020.
Menalito McGee (5’10”, PG, Wyoming)
McGee needs to be seen by college coaches and talked about more by scouts. He’s a scoring point guard, but so much more than that. Hopefully next level coaches will get to see him at the Top 250.
Freddie McIntosh (5’10”, PG, Saginaw)
McIntosh is a physical specimen at the lead guard. He plays through contact, draws defenders, and can dish or score.
Mark Miller (6’4″, G/F, Grand Blanc)
Miller is a steady leader who doesn’t seek out the spotlight, but definitely deserves it. He contributues in so many ways…..scoring, rebounding, and defending multiple positions, among many more.
Evan Neff (6’2″, SG, Kingston)
There was some chatter amongst college coaches about Neff late in the summer. That makes it a perfect time to show off that shooting stroke at the Top 250.
Donivan Peoples (6’4″, CG, Detroit Frederick Douglass)
Peoples simply got a lot better this summer. The versatile athlete would be a great addition to the Top 250, as college coaches need to see and hear about him.
Thaddeus Powell (6’7″, F, Detroit Edison)
Powell is a long and athletic finisher in the open floor. He’s a rim protector on D. Coaches will love his high ceiling.
Mike Robinson (6’6″, F, Ann Arbor Huron)
Robinson is a different player now, than he was 6 months ago. He’s attacking the glass and runs the floor with ease. He’d be great to watch at the Top 250.
Eli Steffen (6’3″, PG, Zeeland West)
Steffen had a great grassroots season, and I’d like to see that continue at the Top 250. He could really send a message on September 22.
Jacob Tomsich (6’0″, SG, H.H. Dow)
College coaches: You want Tomsich at the Top 250. He’s one of the best pure shooters in the senior class.
Sam Vasiu (5’9″, PG, Northpointe Christian)
Vasiu is fast with good hip movement. He’s a steady lead guard who can score and dish. Vasiu will make you forget about his height.
