As summer ball is now in full swing, Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at some of the state’s top players on the rise in a variety of positions.
Below are some of the state’s players to keep your eyes on in the 2020 class
Eduardo Quezado, 5’11, G, 2020, Rolla
A fine guard who creates openings for himself and looks to connect quickly and efficiently. He can handle the ball for himself and can connect on pull-up jumpers and shots from around the perimeter. Quezado can also get to the basket some and absorb contact around the glass. He rebounds sum and looks to play physical and use his agility to his advantage.
Tyus Wilson, 6’5, G/F, 2020, Sterling
A lanky, thin player who has great hops and strong footwork. He can handle the ball some and gets inside and uses his height and length to get baskets around the basket. He can get to the basket and is good at blocking shots and contesting shots around him. Wilson covers ground quickly and as nice footwork and can score some for himself and passes well to his teammates.
Jackson Lewis, 6’0, G, 2020, Scott City
A player who can score for himself and shoot well on set plays. He can fill out a stat book one night and others he can look to pass or feed the ball to the hot hand. Lewis is a smart player and he has a game that fits nicely where you need them. He has the potential to increase his scoring ability and improve his ball-handling. He also has good vision and play solid transition.
Kasen Ostmeyer, 6’0, G, 2020, Quinter
A nice guard who does a bit of everything well. He can score, rebound on both ends and he passes well. He can bring the ball up the floor as he can handle it some and get inside. He keeps his head up and pushes the ball up the floor. He has good vision and makes good decisions with and without the ball.
Evyan Smith, 6’1, G, 2020, Scott City
Another guard from Scott City who could develop into a larger role for his team. He can play strong defense on the ball and shows awareness and a solid basketball IQ. He runs the floor and can shoot it well when he’s dialed in. He shoots a solid percentage from the field and gets quality looks through his movement.
