Commitments
Collin Warmouth (2019 Roseburg) to Western Oregon – The last top player to make his decision, Warmouth will be staying in-state and heading to Western Oregon. The 6-foot-4 wing had received an offer from the previous coaching staff with the Wolves, but it wasn’t until after making a visit and meeting with new head coach Wes Pifer that the offer was confirmed and his commitment was made. Other top Division II programs such as St. Martin’s and Chaminade were considered but in the end Warmouth decided to stay close to home.
John Morrill-Keeler (2018 Pacific) to Western Oregon – The Wolves doubled up on in-state products with the commitment from Morill-Keeler, who played his freshman season at Umpqua CC. At 6-foot-10, 245-pounds, he’s a legit big man who followed up a co-1A Player of the Year senior year at Pacific to averaging 13.8 points and 6.7 rebounds this past year for the Riverhawks. He’ll have three years of eligibility with Western Oregon.
Cobi Wilson (2019 Aloha) to Merritt (Calif.) CC – Wilson played out the spring with Rose City Basketball and has found a college home at Merritt after making a visit to campus. At 6-foot-3, Wilson is long and athletic, and can defend multiple positions. His development curve will be to develop more as an offensive player at the JC level.
Eric Puclik (2019 Gresham) to Cabrillo (Calif.) JC – Puclik was a solid third scorer behind Daello Portin-Chapman and Ethan Abrahamson this past season with the Gophers. At 6-foot-2, he is a solid combo guard that should provide some backcourt depth at Cabrillo.
Tyler Newsom (2019 Pendleton) to Linn-Benton CC – Newsom was one of the highest scorers in the state and at 6-foot-4, has the size and athleticism to do damage on the wing. He considered a number of NWAC options but ends up at Linn-Benton, where new head coach Joe Schaumburg has loaded up on a lot of talent in his first incoming recruiting class.
Solomon Campbell (2019 Parkrose) to Lower Columbia (Wash.) CC – The long, lanky, and developing big man will get his start at the college level at Lower Columbia. At 6-foot-10, he runs the floor and blocks shots, and the son and brother of former Division I players is still emerging as an offensive player.
Offers
Isaiah Amato (2020 Central Catholic) from Pacific – The offer from Pacific is Amato’s second, joining the early one he received from Eastern Washington prior to his junior season. With the offer, the athletic 6-foot-4 guard now has a couple of Division I options – will he add any more after this next month with ML20?
Jackson Shelstad (2023 West Linn) from Eastern Washington – He hasn’t even played a minute of high school basketball yet and Shelstad has already picked up a Division I scholarship offer. The 5-foot-10 and still-growing point guard has an outside shot and skills beyond his years and the Eagles decided they wanted to get in early with his college recruitment. There’s a lot of time to go for Shelstad, who is currently playing with the Rose City Rebels 14U squad.
Jamison Guerra and Blake Jensen (2020 Sherwood) from OIT – The Hustlin’ Owls recently saw enough of the one-two Bowman duo and decided to offer a scholarship to both – Guerra’s second (Multnomah offered during the season) and Jensen’s first. The two aren’t necessarily a package deal but both continue to play for International Elite with the hopes of adding some more this month.
Recruiting Tidbits
Kadeem Nelson (2019 De La Salle North) remains unsigned but he could be deciding soon. The 6-foot-3 wing notes has received Division I interest from a number of programs but is leaning towards Lower Columbia CC at the moment. He played with Maeko in the spring but will be suiting up with Deep III next week… One of the top former in-state players still looking for a new college home after transferring is Charles Jones (2016 David Douglas). After leaving Utah, he’ll have to sit out the 2019-20 season before having one more year of eligibility… Another former Scot, Demonte Malloy (2017 David Douglas), is also set to make a decision. His final two are Academy of Art and St. Martin’s, where his JC coach at South Puget Sound – Aaron Landon – is currently the head coach.
