Brett Hardt Jr. 6’2 2021 G PHH UAA/PHH Prep
I thought Hardt played very solid all weekend. He was a very consistent presence on a very up and down PHH UAA team. He shot the ball incredibly well, always coming up with a big basket when his team needed it most. I also felt like he ran their offense very well and acted almost as a floor general.
D’Marco Dunn 6’4 2021 G PHH UAA/Marana
Dunn is very tough to stop from scoring. When he decides to rip and attack the basket with force, it’s tough to guard. He is very strong, fast, and athletic. He often cashes in on and-1 opportunities when attacking the basket. He did a decent job shooting the ball from mid-range and struggled a bit from 3.
Steven Cervantez 5’8 2021 G AZ Legends/Mesa
This kid can absolutely score the ball in any way possible. He has a lot of quick combo moves that he can use at his disposal in order to get past his defender. Steven has a very nice looking shot, very quick and very good form. The only thing I worry about is his size, he is very small in frame and that makes me question where he fits going into the next level.
Khalid Whitaker 5’10 2020 G AZ Dynasty/Flowing Wells
Whitaker is a score first point guard, much like Cervantez, I don’t know where he fits in at the next level due to his size. Whitaker can score the ball efficiently however and is very athletic. He has very quick dribble moves that puts his defenders on skates.
Brycen Long 6’2 2020 G PHH Rise/Gilbert
Long played extremely well all weekend. He is still one of the best rebounding guards in the state. Long isn’t overly athletic or tall, he gets rebounds off of pure determination and boxing out. Some players rely on their jumping ability, Long relies on fundamentals. The kid does everything right. He can shoot it, always makes the right passes, plays defense, rebounds, the list goes on and on.
