DaRon Holmes 6’9 2021 F PHH UAA/Millennium
Holmes didn’t look like himself in the first day of action but quickly got it together in day 2. He was an absolute beast. The other team couldn’t cover him. He can pull up and hit the mid-range or attack the basket. He was able to score seemingly whenever he wanted. Defensively, he was good as always. Holmes blocks a lot of shots and gathers a lot of rebounds for himself.
Dre Henry 6’8 2020 F PHH Rise/PHH Prep
Dre Henry played very well this weekend. He has a lot of strong low post power moves that allows him to get open lay ups. Henry is a rare combination of speed, athleticism, and strength. I really admire his work ethic as every time I see him, he looks a little bit more athletic and a little bit more agile than the last time. Henry is a gym rat and it is translating to the court.
Cesar Saenz 6’5 2020 F AZ Dynasty/Sabino
Saenz is another rare combination of speed and strength. He has a lot of guard skills and tight handles. He is forced to play post a lot due to his height and lack of height on his team but that provides them with a lot of versatility. He is able to grab a board and quickly push it up the court and go get a bucket for himself.
Logan Phillips 6’8 2020 F PHH Rise/Valley Christian
Another player that is improving a lot this summer is Logan Phillips. I remember watching him in the very first tournament this summer and compared to now, he isn’t the same player at all. Phillips is a lot more physical in pursuit of scoring the ball. He can shoot it and is extremely long, making it easy for him to score at the basket.
