Khalid Price 5’10 PG 2019 Mountain Pointe (Legion of Hoops 17U White)
Price’s shooting was out of this world at times. He hit four threes in four possessions with one of the pulls coming off of a stolen in-bound pass with no one else with him in transition. While the shot might not be considered a high percentage look, it demonstrated the confidence that he has in himself as a shooter. Further, he shot it well off of the dribble and in catch and shoot situations. He did not get many opportunities to shoot it coming off of screens.
Caleb Alonso Caleb Alonso 6'5" | SF Phhoenix Prep Post Grad | 2021 State AZ 6’5 SG 2020 Desert Ridge (Legion of Hoops 17U White)
Alonso plays his role extremely well for this 17U Legion of Hoops team. He competes on the defensive end of the floor and makes few makes offensively. Further, he hits open threes and can come off of screens to connect from deep. He acts as a floor spacer who makes it extremely hard for opposing teams to help when the skilled wings and guards attack.
Jackson Risi Jackson Risi 6'1" | SG AZ 6’2 SG 2020 Valley Christian (Legion of Hoops 17U Black)
Risi shot the basketball extremely well this weekend. In addition to being accurate, he has an on-time release for the college level. He is able to do it in an array of ways as well which makes him even more lethal. In addition to being a knockdown shooter, he has gotten noticeably stronger size the last time I saw him play. At 6’2 with a strap and good strength, Risi could definitely play his way into a role at the collegiate level.
Dwight McKnight Dwight McKnight 6'1" | PG Valley Vista | 2021 State AZ 6’1 PG 2021 Valley Vista (AZBEElite 16U)
McKnight did most of his damage off of the dribble. However, due to being a capable shooter who made teams pay when he was left alone, opposing teams have to close out on him. This enables him to create at the level he needs to in order for AZBEElite to be successful. McKnight will be moving into a much bigger role for Valley Vista this upcoming year. If this tournament was any indication, he looks ready for the role.
Aadem Isai Aadem Isai 6'1" | PG Valley Vista | 2023 State AZ 6’0 PG 2023 Valley Vista (AZBEElite 16U)
Isai was a little streaky at times, but he shot the basketball extremely well on Friday and on Sunday. Further, on Sunday, he connected on 6 threes in one game. He is young and competing up with the 16U group, but showed that he still has the accuracy and shot speed to make an impact at this level.
