Max Topham 6’4 2021 PG Parowan (Salt Lake Metro 17U)
Topham was one of the most intriguing prospects to watch. One of the biggest knocks on small school guys is that they are not used to the competition level necessary to play collegiate basketball. Topham showed absolutely no signs of being over his head. Whatever his role was, he did it exceptionally well. He is versatile enough to play multiple positions at a high level as well. Keep an eye out for Topham and Salt Lake Metro.
Creighton Hansen 6’6 SF 2020 Burley (UBC Elite 17U)
Hansen earned a lot of attention over the weekend due to his versatility. His frame still needs work. However, he is extremely skilled and also able to play multiple positions. He is a capable shooter and defender who does things that win games. He has high upside and could be an interesting prospect at a number of levels.
Zachary Visentin 6’8 C 2020 Springville (UBC Elite 17U)
Visentin is another prospect who had a strong tournament. Due to his upside and current skill level, many NCAA D2s and NAIA D1s were hopeful that he could fall to their level. However, Idaho State may have put an end to that. He is highly skilled and still has plenty of growth that could happen. He plays extremely hard and finishes well around the rim. Further, he showed soft hands and a good understanding of the game.
Quinnten Bennett 6’6 C/PF 2021 Weber (UBC Elite 16U)
Bennett was mentioned in a previous article for top post players as well. He is skilled with his back to the basket and moves well without the basketball. However, he looks like a far from finished product despite his ability to already impact a game at a high level. Bennett’s upside is extremely high and should be on college coaches’ radars.
Tyler Roberts 6’5 SF 2020 Woods Cross (Salt Lake Bounce 17U)
Roberts was one of the top wings in the event, regardless of state affiliation. He is athletic and strong enough to play from day 1 at multiple levels. Further, he is a capable shooter who moves well without the basketball and competes on the defensive end of the floor. Roberts is like many Utah wings in that they could be successful at an array of levels. Whoever lands him will be impressed with his toughness and skill set.
