This team is one that comes highly publicized and rightfully so. What makes their program so great is their ability to develop a farm system and train their young players the right way. Their coaching staff comes highly decorated being comprised of ex-college and professional players with years of experience teaching and training basketball at all levels, from beginners to established NBA players.
Each year their ability to add talent and coach them up to be successful not only on the court but off of it shows why they are the program they are. Here are a few of their young 16u prospects to keep an eye on.
Jaydyn Dalton- Featured in the picture up top is 16 year old combo guard Jaydyn Dalton. He’s a 6’0 combo guard he attends local Spring Valley High School in Las Vegas. Jaydyn is a young man who’s biggest attribute is his leadership. Coach Paul Blair of Spring Valley stated about Dalton “He made varsity as a freshman that is a lot of pressure on a 14/15 year old kid, but he just has high character.” Along with his high character are a number of key attributes that make Jaydyn a top young prospect. He has an effortless jump shot his ability to shoot the ball effectively from long range makes him a good young combo guard. However, it’s his court vision and strong attention to detail that makes him a solid point guard. He is a proud member of Vegas Elite he states the coolest part about being a member of this team is the national exposure they get.
Dominic Blair- Standing in at 6’4 is wing player Dominic Blair. From a young age Blair knew that being a basketball player was something he wanted to be. His father Paul is his high school varsity coach at Spring Valley he is legit a student of the game. Blair himself biggest strength is his versatility. As one of the taller 16 year old’s he is able to extend his game away from the basket stretch and shoot. If he needs to take his man one on one he is able to do that at will and he is a solid rebounder. Blair has many tools in his belt and is constantly working on his game with his dad in the offseason. His development will defiantly be something to watch going forward. His favorite part about Vegas Elite are the environment and comradery with his teammates.
Frank Bartley- Another Spring Valley player the 5″10 Bartley is a two-sport athlete. Bartley is a kid who loves the idea of defense and wants to continue to improve as a defender. Offensively he can slash get to the basket and knock down open looks. He really wants to be an elite defender and that’s where his football mentality transfers to the basketball court. Bartley has a gritty mentality and is the one that energizes his team with his continuous effort on the floor.
Overall, the measurements of success in a program is building around a future of high character young men. To Vegas Elite’s credit they have the finest of effort from each young man that walks through that door.
