DaRon Holmes PF 6’8 190 Millennium (AZ) (PHH 16 UAA and Elite-100 ATL)
-Young baby-face player just keeps impressing wherever he goes. He has room to grow but he is very versatile on both sides of the court. He literally guarded top PG’s in the 16 Circuit then multiple bigs with Big conference offers and outplayed all competitors. He is becoming more consistent as an overall shooter and seems most comfortable from mid-range. He can step out and hit the 3pt shot and works well in the post with his quick second jump and athleticism. He rebounds and blocks shots at a high rate. His ability to essentially guard anyone and score it multiple ways makes him highly coveted around the country. He can still fill in and get stronger and polish a few things up, but he looked better than many other Top-50 type of prospects. He picked up offers from Vanderbilt and Pepperdine.
Ty Ty Washington Jr. CG 6’4 180 Cesar Chavez (AZ) (Elite-100 ATL)
-Washington coasted a little when he first arrived but then started making plays for others and went to his next gear and right at Top-10 player Max Christie!! His strength and skill were definitely on display. He can back you down in the post and score it or use his tight handle to get into the lane and bully players then rise up. He has a smooth jumper from deep with pull-ups and off the catch. Another thing that really stands out is how easy he makes the game look. He made Holmes and company look good. He swings the ball to the next shooter and gives up good shots for better shots. He sees the court like a true PG and the Holmes/Washington Jr duo was great TV. He picked up an offer from TCU right after the event.
Carson Basham C 6’10 220 Sunnyslope (AZ) (Team Arsenal Elite 16 Rise (CA)
-Big kid has a nice touch and is turning into the best passing big in the West Coast. Not explosive yet but once he gains momentum, he can flush it down easily. The more you watch him you appreciate many things he does to help a team win and it starts with his IQ and unselfish play. He has soft hands and his ability to grab a rebound and go the length of a court and then make a play is very rare for a post player. He can face-up from elbow and in and is more comfortable and playing slower/controlled. Injured his ankle Sat am and could not participate at the Elite-100.
D’Marco Dunn SG 6’3 175 Marana (AZ) (Powerhouse Hoops 16 UAA)
-Dunn is a strong scoring guard who likes getting downhill. He is a good catch 3pt shooter and has a nice pull-up from mid-range. He rises high on his jumper with nice elevation and has a compact stroke. He handles the ball well and can make plays for others. He is very active on defense and is a good on-ball defender. He rebounds well for a guard and still has a younger face.
Jason “JT” Elder F 6’5 1/2 185 Cienega (Powerhouse Hoops 16 UAA)
-Elder is a long forward who can play both spots. He loves ripping through and getting downhill and finishing with either hand. He almost favors his left hand more. He makes catch-3’s and take long strides into the lane. He runs and moves like a wing and is somewhat of a tweener but versatile on both ends. He has some nice bounce to blocks shots and rebounds the ball at a high rate. Elder picked up his first offer from Portland State.
Kiran “Ky” Oliver F 6’4 160 PHH Prep (Powerhouse Hoops 16 UAA)
-The pogo stick athlete is an undersized forward but plays way above the rim. His motor is non-stop and seems to be a step ahead of every opponent on the glass. He can defend inside and out on the perimeter plus is a consistent shot blocker. He flies in the open court and is a stud on the break without handling the ball too much. He can make a catch 3 but gets most of his points off the glass and sheer hustle and he may have the best motor in the class from AZ. Oliver also picked up his first offer from Portland State.
