Devon Barshow 6’6″ Gateway: The long and lanky wing from McCluer enjoyed a productive weekend and picked up his first offer from Lindenwood University in the process. His combination of length and versatility make him a solid prospect to watch. He displayed his 3-point stroke in the championship game where he knocked down three in the second half of Gateway’s victory. He had nice handles and will be even more effective with one less dribble and gains additional strength in the weight room.
Breven McMullen 6’5″ Gateway: The Park Hills Central standout got his team rolling in the championship game with 10 quick points, which included a 3-pointer, a tough take in the lane and a slam dunk off the opening tip. He displayed his three-level scoring ability throughout the weekend as well as his improved athleticism. Several of the Division II coaches in attendance where paying close attention to him.
Sam Richardson 6’5″ Arsenal Hoops: The versatile wing from Hancock is very effective just about anywhere on the court. He is a solid defender and rebounder who does well on the offensive boards. He does a good job of getting buckets in the lane with short jumpers, plus he can handle it and step out and make perimeter jumpers.
Kobe Clark 6’6″ Team Ramey CCM: The Vashon High wing scored 10 points in the championship game and displayed his all-around game and high basketball IQ. He is very comfortable when he has to handle the ball because he is a good passer and decision maker. He knocked down a couple of 3-pointers, which would make his game complete.
Harrison Vickers 6’5″ Gateway: The versatile lefty from Chaminade is an excellent all-purpose player who helped his team to the 17U championship. He attacks the rim with a lot of authority and finished with tough layups off the glass or slam dunks. He can facilitate the offense as a point forward, guard multiple positions (including point guard) and make perimeter jumpers. He’s the ultimate Swiss Army Knife.
Justice Thoma 6’4″ SEMO Silver Bullets: The physical wing player from Cape Notre Dame can excel with his toughness or with the finesse game when he needs it. He can get tough buckets and three-point plays in the paint and he has a nice pull up jumper from the middle area with excellent elevation. He can also rise up and throw down a dunk off the bounce.
Michael Skoff 6’4″ Arsenal Hoops: The versatile combo forward from DeSmet has really shot the ball during the July and he continued that during the weekend, especially from the corners where he was very effective. He is also a solid playmaker who you can trust to make decisions with the ball as an effective passer and ball handler.
J.J. Schwepker 6’5″ Gateway: The combo wing from Fort Zumwalt South enjoyed an excellent shooting weekend, plus he made a series of winning plays in helping his team to the championship. He is a willing passer who set up teammates for easy scores. In the closing minutes of finals, he had a big 3-pointer, a key tip-in and a big offensive rebound and the game-clinching free throws.in the closing seconds.
Samuel Bledsoe 6’2″ SEMO Silver Bullets: The talented shooter from Charleston had a very productive weekend shooting the basketball from long distance. He was making them from well beyond the 3-point line. He has also done a nice job of expanding his game. His was making plays off the dribble, going coast to coast on the fast break and throwing some nice dimes as well.
Marcus Anthony 6’2″ Express Elite: An athletic wing from Jefferson City Helias who was back on the court after a long absence due to an injury during the season. It was good to see him back and doing what he does best, which is to attack the basket and slash his way to buckets. He is still catching his wind, but his bounce and energy was very good.
Jaques Thomas 6’3″ Missouri Basketball Club: A bouncy wing player from Rockwood Summit who was very explosive and did a good job of attacking the basket. His offensive game is still a work in progress, but his skill level has developed over the course of the grassroots season. He can also make plays as a rebounder and on the defensive end.
Brant Bowers 6’0″ Missouri Elite: The wing from Rock Bridge enjoyed a big weekend in leading his team to the championship of the Gold Division. He was one of the most impressive shooters in the event as he was knocking down five or six per game from long distance.
Sylvan Mosley 6’3″ Arsenal Hoops: An active wing player from McCluer North who does a good job of playing without the ball and making positive plays because he stays on the move and runs the court. He attacks the basket well and finishes well at the rim with his slashing drives.
Charlie Ferrick 6’2″ Missouri Basketball Club: A slashing wing player from Priory, “Charlie Buckets” was excellent at getting to the rim and creating baskets in the lane and playing through contact. He has done it throughout his high school career and he does it well during the grassroots season. He is just as crafty on the dribble as he is aggressive, which makes him a very resourceful offensive player.
