Joe Bamisile | 6’5” G | Monacan 2020
The Northwestern commit showed why he’s considered a top 100 player in the country and will likely see early time for them next year. He has great length and athleticism at the guard position, and he showed he can be effective both running the point and playing off the ball as well. He has deep range from deep and is an explosive finisher around the rim, and when he wants to take a game over he can do it at will.
Jamais Wertz | 6’7” F | Monacan 2021
Wertz is an intriguing prospect who is under the radar because he didn’t play much last season. At 6’7”, he has a great frame and good athleticism that he’s able to use on both ends of the floor, and he has a pretty good nose for the ball as he rebounded well and found himself in good positions to score. If he continues to develop his skill set he will be a guy to watch moving forward.
Tyler Warren | 6’6”F | Atlee 2020
A Penn State football commit, Warren would have a chance at being a division one basketball player too if he made it his main sport. He’s a big, strong and physical guy who plays hard on both ends, and he’s very mobile as he’s able to stay in front of guards and use his length to contest shots. He showed good athleticism finishing at the rim and he made some tough shots from deep as well.
Elijah Jones | 6’2” WG | Lee Davis 2020
Jones impressed me with his improvement from last year, as he looks like he’s become better on the basketball as a shot creator and maker. He showed improvement on his jumper with a couple of nice threes off the bounce, and he’s an athletic and high motor guy who rebounds well for his position and takes pride on the defensive end. Small schools should be all over Jones for his athleticism and ceiling, as he probably has more he can improve on moving forward.
Whitt Williams | 6’7” PF | Benedictine 2021
A transfer from James River, Williams struck me as a guy to keep an eye on moving forward with his mix of size and skill set. At 6’7”, he can shoot the basketball from deep, can score with his back to the basket and he showed some grit and toughness to his game as well.
Mario Jackson | 6’5” F | Trinity Episcopal 2020
Jackson should see a much bigger role this season at Trinity, and he was a big reason they had a dramatic comeback win over Douglas Freeman. The 6’5” forward has a great frame and is an above average athlete, he can catch and shoot form deep and he has the ability to finish at the rim as well. If he rebounds and makes shots for TES this year they’re going to have a lot of options with their size and will hard to matchup with.
Efton Reid | 6’11” C | Steward School 2021
He’s the number one player in the 2021 class in VA, but if you watched him in a simple summer league matchup you would see no ego or selfishness from the kid at all. While he dominated on the glass and in the paint, he also talked a lot on the defensive end, encouraged his teammates and was a great leader throughout the game. He has great touch out to the three-point line, he runs the floor hard and he’s shown continued improvement throughout his time at Steward School.
Curtis Blaire Jr. | 6’5” WF | Steward School 2023
The son of former NBA player and current NBA ref Curtis Blaire, the junior is going to be a special player as well. He’s both grown and shown a lot of improvement from last year, and with a reclass year he’ll have even more time to improve and get his body right which already looks good for his age. He showed a gorgeous jump shot from deep (much like his father), he has the size to play multiple positions and he understands the game well. No surprise he already holds an offer from Liberty University.
