Many highly competitive games including the All-Star games.
Here were some more of the standout seniors from AZ:
Michael Batchelor SG 6’3 170 Millennium
-Skilled shooter from the perimeter and gets to the basket. He is very good on the break and can score through contact. He makes shots under pressure and understands the game. Plays a smart floor game and is one of the many reasons the Tigers can win it all in 5A.
Caleb Wright SF 6’4 199 Millennium
-A late add to the camp was a Top-40 replacement with his strong play the two days. He stroked it from the 3pt line and used his thicker build to score it inside. He isn’t that big but plays hard, he is a tough competitor and has improved his overall skill level in the last year.
TJ Tigler PG 5’9 140 Mountain Pointe
-Jet quick speed guard can turn the corner on his defender and get into the lane and score it with his left or right hand. He is a fast on-ball defender and can make shots from deep. He can make plays for others but is more of a scoring lead guard.
Michel Milambu SF 6’0 168 Tempe
-Plays with a big time motor and is always hustling and making plays. He rebounds out of his area and seem to collect every 50/50 ball. He is very good in transition and defends his position with quick hands and feet. He is almost all downhill but can make a standstill 3 off the catch. A very fast athlete.
Ricky Hernandez PG 5’10 148 Mesquite
-Lefty sniper from the perimeter plays a real PG role. He never forces the issue and understands the game. He plays at a good pace and can get by his defender to score it. He prefers shooting the 3 and setting up his teammates.
Zaiah Gonzales CG 6’0 155 Mesquite
-Cerebral combo guard can shoot it from deep and make plays for others. He plays conservatively but plays the right way. Skilled 3pt shooter and has a decent burst to get passed his defender.
Grant Weitman CG 6’3 185 Salpointe Catholic
-Strong combo guard can get downhill and score it. He has a good build/frame and can absorb contact to score. He is also a good passer and play-maker. A capable perimeter shooter but more of a downhill player with his strength. Another big piece to the puzzle that could win it all in 4A.
Christion Ashe SF 6’2 180 Mesquite
-Thick shooting forward is very strong. The lefty can get downhill using his body/frame but loves to shoot it from deep. He is a good rebounder in his area and plays a smart game. Unfortunately injured his foot the last game of the 1st day but played well in the 3 games.
Pablo Gutierrez SF 6’5 188 Sabino
-Long forward who has a lot of versatility to defend multiple positions. Can drive the lane plus shoot it from perimeter. A true glue for the next level as he does many things well to help a team win.
