Many highly competitive games including the All-Star games.
Here were some more of the standout seniors from AZ:
Nikola Gasic C 6’11 198 Bella Vista Prep
-A sleeper from the camp wasn’t from AZ or even the US. He is from Serbia and literally arrived Monday on a 22 hour trip just to play in front of coaches. He slept all day and played Tuesday afternoon and immediately threw up. He got some food in him and started playing better. He has legit size and I was surprised how well he moved. He gets up the court swiftly and tried blocking anything near him. He rebounds decently in his area and dunks the ball easily. He can handle the ball ok and tries making some post moves with limited success. He made a couple hook shots. He lacks any kind of strength currently to fight hard in the paint but has clear upside and it will be interesting to see what he looks like in one year, but as the old saying goes, ” You can’t teach size. “
Byron Brown SF 6’4 195 Sahuarita
-One of the big sleepers at the camp from AZ. I have only seen him once ever as he had numerous amount of injuries when he was little and missed almost two HS seasons per his club coach. He doesn’t have bad habits that you sometimes see. He has a great build/strong frame and is very athletic. He plays with a lot of passion and has a great motor. He rebounds anything near him and is mostly a downhill scorer but is a capable 3pt shooter.
JD Feagles SG 6’2 175 Horizon
-Another shooter who has developed his body and handle. He can make some plays for others and take the ball to the basket. He has a super quick release and plays really hard every possession. He could easily avg over 25 ppg for the Huskies this year.
Ryan Berry SG 6’3 175 Notre Dame Prep
-Strong scoring guard who can shoot it. Can get to the rim and score it through contact with his sturdy frame/good build. Good 3pt shooter and plays hard on defense. Should have a breakout year for the Saints.
Miles Sulka SG 6’3 165 Mountain Pointe
-Another lights out shooter from deep. He has unlimited range with a quick trigger. He has a nice handle and can make plays for others. He is one of those players that could care less if he missed 3 in a row or made 5. Can fill in his body and get stronger but has improved his ability to get passed his defender.
Isaac Monroe CG 6’0 155 Peoria
-Once again another shooter from the perimeter. He has a fast shooting release and can get into the lane and score it. He likes setting up his defender and shooting from around 17-feet. He can hit from the 3pt line and is quick laterally. He will need to get stronger but is always ready to fill it up every game.
Nahshon Harper PG 6’0 150 La Joya
-Fast ball handler and defender. Can hit the open 3 but is mostly trying to get passed his defender. One of the quicker lateral defenders at the camp. He plays fast and plays with passion. He will need to fill in moving forward and get stronger.
Brennan Armijo SF 6’4 185 Desert Ridge
-Skilled wing who can score it. He handles the ball well and can shoot it consistently from the 3pt line. Decent build/frame and is a competitive and smart player.
Jake Cioe PG 6’0 175 Salpointe Catholic
-Strong downhill pure PG. Tough on-ball defender with a great body/frame. Can take contact in the lane and score it. Very lightly talked about for the talented HS team but he is their heartbeat and steady ball handler/play-maker/defender.
Tanner Mayer PF 6’6 220 Sunrise Mountain
-Strong inside outside threat can shoot it from deep and mid-range. Rebounds well in post and can push out his opponents on defense with great strength. He can post you up a little but is mostly a face-up forward. He was one of the most consistent performers of the camp.
Cameron Snyder PG 5’11 170 Tempe
-Another big time shooter. Way under the radar guard is now finding his groove as a player. He is a cerebral PG that is smart with the ball and makes good reads but off the catch from deep is where he is valued the most. He went through a couple stretches at the camp where he couldn’t miss. Hitting 3 3’s per game. He gets a good rhythm and stays locked in. He is a little thin and will need to get stronger but he can pull-up off the dribble and competes on defense.
