Though there were only a select few named all-stars of the different games, there was a lot of talent to go around. Here are a few players that I believe performed well but went under the radar a bit.
Trey Donaldson – Gilbert Christian
Donaldson is a solid team player with a lot of athleticism and shooting ability. He was scoring well and playing good defense throughout the tournament, while not having to dominate the ball. He’s poised to have a good senior year.
Michael Batchelor – Millennium
Batchelor is a skilled guard, who, by his own words, is “A bit under the radar,” which can be attributed to the amount of immensely-talented players he’s surrounded by at Millennium. At this event, he was quick up and down the floor, making good cuts off the ball and had a few good plays to create opportunities for others.
Colin Carey – Sunrise Mtn.
Carey was part of the non-senior all-stars, but played well enough that he definitely could have been in the top-20 game in my opinion. He can shoot the ball from outside at a consistent clip, plays good defense on the ball and with help defense, and has good handles for a guy of his size.
