Today, we will be kicking off our series wrapping up how AZ teams did this summer! Next up is PHH UAA. The team was led by Vaughn Compton and Jeff Becker. This team had some of the most talent I’d ever seen on one AAU team and it got many people excited at the beginning of the season. However, the season did not go as well as I thought it would.
PHH UAA finished 7th in their division with a record of 4-8. They finished 29th in scoring, with 48.3 points scored per game while finishing 9th in defense, allowing an average of 54.9 points per game.
The team did not perform as many would have expected. They never seemed to come together and mesh as a unit. The team has many talented individual players who received offers so they were successful in that regard. I thought it was interesting that the team finished so low in scoring when they have a ton of offense on that team. Holmes, Jackson, Elder, Hardt, Dunn can all score the ball quite well.
They did do quite well in the Prep Hoops Circuit and even took home the 16U Championship in one of the events in LA.
DaRon Holmes blew up and landed a ton of offers! D’Marco Dunn and Carter Van Hammond received their first offer! Congrats to them! Justus Jackson also saw a big jump in his recruitment as well!
Offers:
Daron Holmes – Marquette, USC, Arizona, Wake Forest, Kansas, UTEP,
D’Marco Dunn – UTEP
Justus Jackson – North Carolina A&T, Pepperdine, Southern Utah, Portland,
Matur Dhal – Nevada, Montana State
Carter Van Hammond – Air Force
