6’8″ Jr. Ethan Potter – Layton
The Junior from Layton, who was recently offered by Southern Utah, consistently showed why he is one of Utah’s top 2021 prospects. Potter demonstrated his array of low post moves, which included smooth contested hook shots and strong slam dunk finishes. He was able to run the court well and finish in traffic, while battling on the offensive boards. His tough defense and shot blocking were also on display consistently.
6’8″ Jr. Jaden Brownell – Alta
Brownell competed against one of the top U-17 teams and a top 6A team over the weekend, and put on quite the display. The Junior out of Alta,was not only able to showcase his ability to handle the ball and pull up jump shots, but also display quick footwork, tough nosed defense and an array of passes. He showed quick footwork and fade-away jumpers and showed the desire to get on the glass.
6’5″ Sr. Josh Jackson – Lone Peak
The Senior out of Lone Peak was full of hustle, fight and grit. He displayed quick and smart decisions whether it was with his passes or post moves. He always seemed to be in the right place at the right time with a bevy of rebounds and finishes
6’7″ Sr. Boston Painter – Layton
Painter was another force next to teammate Potter. His tough inside D and work ethic were a strong suit, while his soft touch around the rim showed his offensive side. Painter is not a good passer, great one, with crisp passes every time they left his hand. When Painter decisive with his decisions on offense, he was tough to contain.
6’7″ Sr. Max Curry – Bountiful
The Energetic Curry was a monster on Defense and rebounding. He displayed the necessary toughness to help contain some of the states top big men. This was a player that didn’t seem to miss around the rim. His multiple put backs, hook shots and timely blocked shots, were a nuisance for the other team all game.
