Joshua Smith (OPRF- 2021)
Smith is a bit in Isaiah Barnes shadow with OPRF, but he is a very talented prospect in his own right. He showed that off this weekend with his shot creating from all three levels hitting threes, winning off the dribble, and scoring off the move.
Justin Cross (OPRF – 2020)
Cross is a uber long and angular power forward that makes a major impact on the defensive end. Swatted shots at a high level and got in passing lanes with his length. He is a guy you can throw lobs to as well.
Saiveon Williams (Curie – 2020)
The South Carolina transfer is fitting in nicely as the #2 guy for Curie. Power wing scorer that is so explosive with the ball in his hands. Plays above the rim with monster slams. Underrated as a three point shooter as he has made improvement in that area throughout the spring. Plus defender and rebounder.
Alijah Nelson (Glenbard East – 2020)
Nelson played well against Curie on Friday night. The scoring combo guard connected on a couple deep threes showing improved mechanics on his jumper. Slick ball handler that can be a bit too flashy at times.
Jalen Houston (Hyde Park – 2021)
Houston is a quick twitched guard with strength in his compact build. He is definitely at his best when he is using his burst and speed to get to the rim where he finishes very well. Love what he brings to the table on the defensive end pressuring the ball at the point of attack.
Julian Price (Hyde Park – 2022)
Price is a sophomore point guard that opened eyes with his play during the spring. Continued that with his high school team scoring over and over again with tough layups inside and playing scrappy D.
Jhei-R Jones (Lincoln Way East – 2021)
Jones is a smaller point guard, but he is so good as a pull up jump shooter being able to stop and pop on a dime to get his shot off.
Luke Scheffers (St. Charles North – 2020)
Scheffers is a lead guard with smooth ball handling and a consistent mid-range jump shot. Can stretch it out to three along with using runners in the lane.
Connor Linke (St. Charles North – 2020)
Linke is a strong and broad shouldered five man that plays with physicality on the interior. He created deep post position throughout the event. Soft touch and rebounded well. Also had a grown man swat at the apex!
Nate Shockey (York – 2020)
Shockey played well for York throughout the event which opened up more options for him at the next level. Sound shooting point guard that has tightened up his ball handling over the last year.
Louis Lesmond (Niles Notre Dame – 2021)
Lesmond is a plus shooter that can bomb it in from three. We have wanted to see more of a versatile game out of the wing for a while. He showed toughness around the hoop scoring inside and getting on the boards. Displayed passing feel for a wing.
Finn Walsh (St. Laurence – 2020)
Walsh is a speedy lead guard that pushes in the open floor and is an effective three point shooter. He rebounded well from his point guard position.
Kai Evans (Bolingbrook – 2021)
Evans is a power two guard that plays with athleticism and strength! He made an array of explosive spin moves in the lane for finishes against Schaumburg.
Ky’Lun Rivers (Alton – 2020)
Rivers was excellent in the first half against Conant on Saturday night. The scoring two guard made plays off the bounce, got out in transition, and drilled a three.
Moory Woods (Alton – 2020)
Woods fed off Rivers energy having a quality outing of his own. Uber explosive two guard that loves to attack the rim with force! Finishes well through contact.
Connor Davis (Neuqua Valley – 2021)
Davis played well off Poulakidas on Saturday night when the defense was focusing on him. The junior wing is a plus shooter off the catch from three who moves well without the ball.
Walter Mattingtly (Deerfield – 2021)
Mattingly is a rangy combo forward that has a nice skill set. Can put it on the deck and has a solid passing feel.
Ismail Habib (Lincoln Park – 2021)
Habib is a smaller junior point guard that is lethal pulling up from three. He hit five pull up triples in the game we saw on Sunday. Quick twitched guard that pushes in the open floor.
Trey Pettigrew (Fenwick – 2022)
This Fenwick sophomore has a chance to develop into a high level guard. Over the weekend he consistently knocked down threes both off the catch and pulling up. Can play both on and off the ball effectively.
