But the tough 6-foot-4, 180-pound wing from Southridge will be continuing his prep career. Galvin will be playing next year at the famed New Hampton School and he’s excited about the opportunities ahead for him.
“My dad knows the coach pretty well and I made a visit there and it seems like a good fit,” Galvin said. “They have a good rehab program that I’ll be stepping into with my knee and everything that happened.”
Galvin made a trip to see the famous prep school located in New Hampshire late in the season and enjoyed his time there. “It’s definitely colder over there for sure, but the campus is great and the coach – I’ve actually known him for a long time,” Galvin said. “They’ve got a bunch of guys already committed (to college) and they’ve got a good recruiting (class) going too.”
As noted, Galvin’s senior season was terminated early on as he suffered a torn ACL in early December. He’s been rehabbing ever since and that’s his focus before hitting the court again. “Getting healthy is the main thing,” Galvin said. “And from there, it’s moving forward with my career and seeing how I can improve and ultimately what college opportunities I’ll have.”
Galvin ranked #19 on the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2019 rankings.
