Linke rebounds well in traffic, positions himself offensively on the block, and can hit a mid-range jumper. He spoke about what he and his point guard did to elevate their stock at Ridgewood.
“It went really well. I made a name for myself. I came out super aggressive. Luke (Scheffers) and I were really set on getting some good team wins and doing well personally. We did well together.”
He spoke about his mindset as a player at the event.
“Trying to get a deep seal. I was able to score over most guys pretty easily so as long as I got good post position it worked out well. Tried to use my basketball IQ. Set screens, get teammates open, hit open shooters. I was trying to make my team better.”
Because of his play there his recruitment has started to pick up.
“I talked to a lot of coaches. A lot of coaches need a good 6’9” post. A lot of coaches have been reaching out to me.”
UC-Davis and North Dakota both extended him scholarship offers after his play at Ridgewood. What does he like about them?
“Both schools are really good academically. North Dakota has a really good engineering school. That is what I am interested in. UC-Davis is a really good public school for academics. Both have had pretty good basketball programs recently.”
Linke mentioned a couple others showing interest.
“My parents went to Valpo and their head coach has been reaching out to me. Cal-Poly is another one that was at all the Ridgewood games and is looking into me and Luke.”
