Recruiting Report: Cole Hanin (2021)
To put it simply, Cole Hanin was a standout performer at DMV Live II with Bullis. The Bulldogs floor general shot the lights out, facilitated the ball effectively to his teammates and led not only by example but also with his words.
One thing you have to admire about Hanin is that despite his relatively small stature, he’s not afraid to mix it up with anyone. In fact, he takes pride in making plays that won’t show on the traditional stat sheet.
“I love hustle plays. Diving on the floor, taking charges. Stuff like that,” Hanin said during a recent interview with Prep Hoops.
It’s still somewhat early in his recruiting process, but the consensus from college coaches is that Hanin knows how to play the right way and makes guys around him better. One school that he visited recently was Yale.
“It was a really nice school. I loved all the coaches. The facilities were great. Definitely a school I’d look at going to,” Hanin stated.
Right now, the biggest focus for Hanin is getting stronger. He understands that basketball at the next level requires you to handle physicality, especially on defense and the boards.
Bullis went 2-1 at DMV Live II, and while its quite early, the team looks to be improving and moving in the right direction heading into the upcoming season. Hanin will likely be task with more responsibility this season, but so will the others. We saw glimpses of this at DeMatha, where guys like Alan Kane, Zane Adnam, and William Moreau stepped up respectively.
“It was big for us,” said Hanin of their performances. “When we get into the lane, the defense collapses and we have trust in our teammates. They hit some big shots and it was big for us.”
