Thompson averaged 25.3 points on the UAA circuit this spring and summer for Oklahoma Run PWP. All of those points he scored came from all three levels. He is definitely a guy that can get hot quickly. He can make about anything from the floor including three’s pull-ups and fade aways. He described himself as always having a “killer mindset”. Even thought he can put up a lot of points, any given time, an underrated part of his game might be his ability to pass the ball.
He talked about him summer with us, “It has been good. I have put in a lot of hard work and am going to keep working, it is all I have been doing. Talking to coaches daily and just going through the recruitment process.
All of this is leading into a high major recruitment battle. When asked which schools are prioritizing him, he mentioned, “Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, North Carolina and Michigan State.”
He briefly broke some of those schools down for us.
North Carolina: “Coach Robinson coached my dad at Tulsa so it is a great relationship and it is a great school. I took a visit there and I was very impressed.”
Arkansas: “Coach Crutch, who used to coach at Oklahoma, is at Arkansas now. We have a great relationship so that is good. I took a visit there also and it was a good visit.”
Oklahoma: “That is a good program. I have been going there since I have been young and it is like home. Coach Kruger is an amazing coach and I love the playing style there.”
Kansas: “Kansas is great, Coach Self is an amazing coach. I took a visit there and they have great facilities to go along with a great staff. I got to play pickup with the players and that was good. I like Kansas a lot.
